Sofia Fredriksson (b. 1988 Uppsala, Sweden)

Sofia is a figurative oil painter currently living in southern Sweden. She gained a degree in Chinese from Uppsala University, followed by a degree in Art History, but later found greater meaning creating at the easel. She is primarily a self-taught artist, but has also studied briefly at The Swedish Academy of Realist Art. The artist has participated in several exhibitions around Sweden, and her work can be found in private collections in Europe and Asia.

Her paintings feature a range of subjects, from quiet interiors to landscapes and portraits, rendered in a subtle and muted palette. Light and atmosphere play an integral part to the artist. The paintings often depict her close surroundings and portray a sense of tranquility and solitude, inviting slow contemplation.

The artist intends to create art soothing for the mind.
